Energy!

Vale Green Energy (VGE) is a company dedicated to sustainable energy production.

We have 2 Anaerobic Digestion plants, including a virtual pipeline, and a 19.35MW solar park. We pride ourselves in supplying green gas, electricity, biogenic carbon dioxide (that is food, beverage, and medicinal grade), and surplus heat to industry and local growers.

Our solar park produces enough electricity to power around 6000 homes per year, and offsets over 8000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere, compared to traditional fossil fuel generated energy.

Our anaerobic digestion plants also produce digestate, a bi-product from the anaerobic digestion process, which is used as fertiliser and soil conditioner by local farmers.

Electricity

We generate the equivalent renewable electricity of powering 6000 homes per year.

Million kWh

We generate over 15 million kWh of solar power annually.

Million kWh

In 2024, we injected 60 million kWh of biomethane gas into the WWU network through our virtual pipeline.

Million kWh

From both of our plants and virtual pipeline, we injected over 120 million kWh of biogas into the grid, making us one of the largest producers of biomethane nationally.

Tonnes

Of biogenic CO2 were sold annually for beverage manufacturing, food cryogenics, and medical gases in healthcare.

VGE’s Unique Power Generation Model

The core of the energy model is based around our fresh produce production. The rotational cropping provides feedstock for anaerobic digestion, allowing us to produce biomethane, electricity, biogenic co2, and digestate. These commodities are utilised within the overall EVG Group to aid food production and distribution.
